My my My my

Thank you to all the many kids and families that participated in our two evaluation sessions.  It is very challenging to evaluate over 100 players in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades, and we appreciate everyone's patience as we completed the process.  Please click the "Select Teams" link on the banner at the left for a listing of those players who were recommended for the Select Teams and the High Rec Teams in each grade.

Thanks to everyone for providing feedback to our 2017 postseason survey.  Based on your input, below are several changes we will be instituting for the 2017-18 season:

  • We will create dedicated Select teams for 4th, 5th, and 6th grades, and for both boys and girls depending on interest levels.  These teams will be determined through tryout/assessment, as we have previously done with the 5th and 6th grade boys.  Select teams will play 20-game schedules in the CPYBL organization at an appropriate competition level, and Select players will ONLY play on their Select team.

  • For players interested in playing a 20-game schedule but either are not recommended for, or are not interested in, the Select-level team, we will have a 20-game High Rec option (if we have sufficient interest).  These players will ONLY play on their High Rec team and will play a 20-game schedule through CPYBL at a moderately competitive level.  These players must also participate in a tryout/assessment session.

  • Players who are interested in only a 10-game schedule will be placed onto a Recreational-level team in the CPYBL organization, similar to how our Rec teams have been constructed in the past.  Players who are not recommended for a 20-game team through the tryout/assessment process will also be placed on a 10-game team.

  • Based on these changes, Rec teams from previous seasons will no longer remain intact, and all teams will be created “from scratch” for all age groups.

  • During registration, you will be asked to select a preference for a 20-game or a 10-game schedule.  If you want to be considered for a team with a 20-game schedule, you must choose the 20-game option, and you must attend a tryout/assessment session.  Additional payment for players participating on a 20-game team will be charged after assessments and evaluations are complete.

  • Tryouts/assessments will be held on both Sunday, October 8th and Sunday, October 15th, at Madeira High School.  Sessions will be in the evening, with specific times to be communicated as we get closer to the first session.  Interested 4th/5th/6th grade players are strongly encouraged to attend both sessions.
